"Ohe prabhu Doyamoyi! Antimote Diyo Shree Choron!"

Escaped the bird of my life, she flew away and didn't come back!
Tell me my bird! Where should I go, where can I find you and get you back?
Even that I have no knowledge about!
My bird where did you go and where did you hide, I did not find the where abouts!
Which place did you make your home now, that is not known to me?
You did'nt care once to ask me to come with you!
My bird! Loosing you has made me go crazy!
Whatever may I give or whatever may I do!
I cannot find you....

Leaving the love of sons and daughters, you flew back your home!
Which place is it that you made your home?
I have lost all my faith and all my hopes searching you!
I'm left possessed in mirage, you forgot to ask me to come with you!
Ohh my bird, I plead you to please take me to your place!
Don't ignore this request of mine anymore!

My bird loosing you has made me go crazy!
This condition of mine is not thought by you?
One day you had said that you will not go leaving me...
Don't you remember that instance?
Bird! You betrayed me and left to a place not known to me!

In the year of 1380's, 20th of Poush(Bengali year), you went to your home,
that home is where you did not take me to!
For once you must recall this instance from your perspective!
Don't forget this point anymore!
Innocent Moni after thought says "Ohh my merciful Lord!
At the last moment! Give me your feet as the resting place!".

Words by Mrs. Chandana Biswas(Grand-Daughter of Monimohan Biswas)

The present poem was dictated to me by my grand-father, Late Mr. Monimohan Biswas in rememberance of his beloved wife Late Mrs. Sarala Biswas. This poem had been with me for 37 years after it was written, waiting for its expression. It expresses the true bereavement and pain of one partner who continues to live on while the other partner passes away. It also signifies the loneliness that my grand-father was living after seperation from his lovely wife who had promised to never leave him alone. Lastly this poem expressed that my grand-mother loved my grand-father so much that after she departed, he was left deeply missing and yearning for her love for the rest of his life, wishing to get her back.

After so many years when I began re-writing and translating it, I was enthraled with the moment by moment meaning every line expressed. Henceforth, I am wishful of the world to read and feel his emotions through his words as penned by me forever and ever.
